Frank Holton New Proportion 1914 Cornet - Used

450.00

This is a used Frank Holton New Proportion cornet.  Serial #24575 indicates it was built in approximately 1914. Satin silver plated finish is in fair condition for its age, and a small amount of the gold wash bell interior is intact. There is plating wear on most tuning slides, and the main tuning slide upper outside tube & ferrule appear to have been replaced.  There are small cracks on the leadpipe ferrule and main upper slide tube, however they are not leaking.  There are very minor dings throughout, but overall the cornet is in fair condition for it's age. Features include a unique dual 3rd/main tuning slide configuration.  This instrument has the Bb (LP) slides intact and there is one additional 3rd tuning slide.

The instrument just received our Ultrasonic Flush & Clean, Synthetic Valve Alignment, new valve springs, new water key pads, hand polishing and complete air-leak test. The valves show wear and would probably benefit from a valve rebuild.  All valves/slides move freely. Includes additional 3rd tuning slide and original hardshell case.  The case has that "old case" smell and one of the spring loaded valve casing supports is broken off (but included, and could possibly be repaired).  Does not include a mouthpiece.
