This is a vintage Selmer Paris wood clarinet. It is an early full Boehm system, 21 key, seven ring instrument with articulated G# mechanism and extended range (additional bottom joint key). The Serial number appears to be #K5899 and after speaking with Selmer Paris, they determined the build date was between June and September of 1927.
The instrument is in need of a complete repad and mechanical overhaul. There are two metal flush bands on the top joint (an older method of repairing cracks). The instrument has a unique G# tonehole through the middle tenon joint. The instrument is grenadilla wood with solid German nickel keywork. All keys move and are in tact.
Instrument has three barrels: one marked 2mm.S (measures 64.8mm), one marked Selmer Paris (measures 66.8mm) and one marked 2mm.L (measures 68.8mm). It appears that a more modern 1950-60's Selmer case was modified to fit this instrument (and the bottom joint fits it decently). It is a hard shell style case with case cover (one zipper is broken) and the interior banner reads "The Omega" Selmer Paris on it.
Includes a Selmer Paris HS** mouthpiece. SOLD IN AS IS CONDITION.
