This is a nice used vintage Selmer Paris wood oboe, Serial #1860 indicates it was built in May of 1956. The oboe just received our professional Complete Repad & Mechanical Overhaul. This service includes complete disassembly, cleaning/oiling, all new high quality synthetic pads/bumpers/felts, fitting keywork and final play testing to ensure it is in top playing condition.
The grenadilla wood body is in good condition, with average scratches and wear throughout. It does have two flushbands installed in the top joint, which were repairs to a long crack in the joint. The top joint seals perfectly (to a "0.5") on our Magnehelic leak tester, indicating that the crack is sealed and not leaking.
The instrument was a school trade-in instrument and has school inventory numbers engraved above the serial number on the top & bottom joints, and on the bell.
Includes the original Selmer Paris woodshell case, which is in decent working condition for its age.
