Since 1994 Carl's Pro Band has followed our mission to offer only instruments, accessories, cases, rentals, and repairs that we can stand behind and be proud of.

about our services

Carl's Pro Band specializes in woodwind and brass instrument repair and reconditioning.  An average work day for us can range from basic annual maintenance and cleanings to complete customizations, modifications, and full restorations.  We also offer an unparalleled beginner rental program and sell new & used instruments, high quality accessories, cases and more!

Our diverse clientele includes universities, school districts, music professors, professional musicians, and beginning students.  This vast range of clients gives us the opportunity to work with players and instruments of all levels.  For many years we have done work for the 33rd Illinois Volunteer Regiment Band and other Midwest Civil War Band reenactors' instruments, which allows us to apply our expertise to instruments dating back to the 1800's.  Consistent attendance at NAPBIRT's annual repair conferences and regional repair clinics inspires us to remain a progressive, open minded, forward-thinking repair shop offering most advanced services and products to its customers.

Carl's Pro Band's main customer base remains in the Midwest, however it is growing throughout the US and beyond.  Our focus is to serve our longtime customers and friends to the best of our abilities, and we hope to create new longtime customers and friends through our thoughtful customer service.  We have been in business since 1994 and are in it for the 'long haul'.  Quality craftsmanship is our primary focus and our service speaks for itself.  Carl's Pro Band is not a "normal" music shop!  We only sell or rent instruments, cases, and accessories that we believe in and can stand behind.  We feel it is only right for us to provide equipment that we can be proud of and can also guarantee.

One of a working musician’s best friends is a good horn technician. I’ve had many technicians work on my horns in my 30+ years of professional playing, including many in NYC and there have only been two people I would consider ‘professionals’. Carl is a true professional.
